Maria was born in Slovakia. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Conservatory of Music in Zilina and her Master’s in harp performance from the University of Music and Arts in Bratislava. For three she was the principal harpist of the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic before becoming the harpist of the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava. As a solo artist she was featured at the 7th World Harp Congress in Prague and has made number of solo recordings for the Slovak Radio as well giving the premiere and first recording of a new work by David Ott for harp and orchestra “The Angel’s Harp.”
Maria lives in Columbia, she is the harpist of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra and performs with local and regional ensembles. She regularly appears as harpist with the University of Missouri in ensembles and recitals as well as performing with Flute and Harp Duo with Brooksie Collins. Maria has an active teaching studio in Columbia as well as being an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln University.
